Miss Earth South Africa and Imperial Toyota

From the start of 2009 Imperial Toyota's commitment to the Miss Earth South Africa in association with Consol, has been strong and green in essence... The year started off with a Stationery Drive held at D.D. Dliwayo Primary in Protea Glen, Soweto. This drive equipped an entire school of underprivileged learners with the necessary stationery for them to start the year in the right way. We have participated in several school educational programmes with Imperial Toyota as a partner around the country, where young minds have been opened to the possibilities of becoming an EARTH WARRIOR. It is through these workshops done at schools in rural, township and urban areas, that these young Earth Warriors are Leading the Way in the Green Movement.

The Miss Earth South Africa Team have travelled several times to Cape Town to participate in Educational Programmes, Beach Clean Ups, Vegetable and Tree plantings, Photo shoots, Coastal Bird Rehabilitation at SANCCOB in Table View and the highlight: the release of 24 African Penguins back into the ocean. Through all these environmental initiatives their vehicle needs were taken care of by Cape Gate Imperial Toyota. The ladies were spoilt by driving a Hybrid Prius wherever they went...

Most recently Imperial Toyota was apart of the planting of 100 Trees at Elethu Themba Public School in Eikenhof, Johannesburg to contribute to GLOBAL CLIMATE WEEK celebrations of the United Nations SEAL THE DEAL Campaign. An educational programme on trees and their importance was shared and after volunteers, corporates and learners got digging for the environment.

It has been through the continuous support of Imperial Toyota that we have managed to empower young women to become role models in the environmental industry, create awareness about recycling, educating community members about planting and the potential of self sustainability... They have been our Green on the Roads of South Africa and we look forward to many more
years together Leading the Way into a Greener Future...
